This is the moment a young lad had a narrow escape after fooling around during stormy seas. A three-minute video filmed at Trebarwith Strand at high tide on Thursday (August 3) by a local at the nearby Port William pub shows the youngster repeatedly getting close to the surging water before running away again.
It appears his family watched the act, unaware of the danger he put himself in each time he dashed back and forth on the wet rocks. Also, on the same evening, a photographer risked it all just to get a perfect storm shot.
The astonished local, who is from nearby Camelford and wishes to remain anonymous, said: "It might be a good idea to remind locals and visitors the importance of respect when it comes to our coasts.

"Pictured from The Port William, looking down at Trebarwith Strand, is a photographer putting her life on the line just to capture that perfect image.
"The videos are of a young lad thinking it's fun playing with the huge surge and running for his life. The kids running, their parents were sat on the cliff watching."
The witness said that a local folk singer was performing in the pub and even came out during his break and shouted "go back, you don't want to die".

The witness added: "A few onlookers were telling the kids to move back. I don't think anybody had a word with the parents, although we all couldn't believe the fact that they weren't bothered."
Coastguards around Cornwall have repeatedly warned people to keep a safe distance when observing the seas during storms.
